What’s the difference between a peel and facial?
Both peels and facials work to improve your skin.
Peels have more umph than a facial. Some people just like the exfoliation and relaxation of a facial, but at Gateway Medspa we can incorporate facials into peels so that you get the benefits of both.
Benefits of a facial include a deep cleanse, professional exfoliation, improved circulation, and opening of the pores. It’s a very effective way to keep your skin in good health. And there is no down time.
What products or treatments compliment a facial?
We have many different medical grade treatment masks for hydration, brightening, calming and acne. We also have a great lip and eye treatment to create hydrated and supple skin.
Dermaplane is another good add on to a facial. This treatment manually removes vellus facial hair as well as product build up and build up dead skin cells. It gives an instant result of brightening and softness.
How often should I get a peel?
Depending on the type of peel, your skin, and your skincare goals, you can get a peel every two to four weeks. See below…
What type of peel should I get?
Both men and women get peels. Most people want a radiant face, but you can also get peels on your back, arms, or other body parts, like the chest area or scalp.
Peels can treat – and repair – sun damaged skin. But don’t continue to go outdoors, wear a good sunblock every day, and use barrier sun protection or the skin will age rapidly.
Salicylic – For acne or acne prone and oily, congested skin. Every two-three weeks.
Glycolic – Great peel for fine lines, texture, smoothing the skin, softening and brightening. Every two-three weeks.
Lactic – This peel is extremely mild but still provides excellent exfoliation. This is an overall refreshing, rejuvenating and hydrating peel. It leaves the skin smooth and soft. Great to do before an event because there is no down time.
Advanced Corrective – This is a perfect peel to treat acne scars, deeper lines, wrinkles and Pigmentation. Expect deeper correction and fantastic results! Use special products for at-home regime and for a month before hand. Once a month.
PCA Sensi Peel – For rosacea, darker skin types, and more sensitive skin.
During your complimentary consultation we will determine which peel is appropriate for your skin type. To find the perfect peel for your skin and skincare goals, contact us at Gateway Medspa for a free consultation.
